Massage Therapy is typically performed in increments called Units of Treatment. One Unit of Treatment is generally considered 15 minutes of time, but may vary depending on the service provided from 8-15 minutes. There are several modalities that may be billed by your provider during a typical treatment. Here is a list of treatments that we commonly bill to your insurance carrier.
The standard rate is determined by Oregon Administration Rules and we bill in units of treatment in accordance with Oregon Medical Fee’s and Payment Rules published by the Department of Consumer and Business Services Worker’s Compensation Division. We currently offer a 30% discount for payments rendered at the time of service.
If you are denied coverage, you may be liable for this amount minus any deductions for cash settlement, but typically if you have been injured at work or in a car accident, these services are covered in full by your insurance carrier. There is no deductible for Work Comp and Motor Vehicle Accidents. If you have health insurance that covers massage therapy, you may need a referral from your Primary Care Physician, Pre-Authorization and there may be a Co-Pay due at the time of service. You may also need to meet your Deductible first before they will cover these services. If we are not in your network, that does not mean that your carrier will not pay for your treatments. For out of Network claims, we are more than happy to provide you with a superbill and we will help you to get your treatments covered.
